Goa renounces cash

Goa will renounce cash. It will be the first state in India, where it will be possible to pay by bank transfer. From December 31, it will be possible to make all payments by mobile phone or pay by card.

State Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar Srivastava informed about innovation. According to him, in a month in Goa, you won't need the wallet at all.

"All transactions will be carried out by mobile phone. Money for the purchase will be debited from a bank account belonging to the buyer," Srivastava said.

Srivastava also noted that ATMs will work and in shops or hotels you can pay by credit card.

On November 8, the government of India has announced the beginning of the monetary reform: largest bills in denominations of 500 and 1000 rupees were abolished. The aim of the reform was the fight against counterfeiters and corrupt.
